O nouă rundă de consultare publică pe strategia de dezvoltare economică, socială și de mediu a Văii Jiului

Ministerul Investițiilor și Proiectelor Europene a anunțat ieri, 10 mai 2021, lansarea unei noi runde de consultări publice în privința Strategiei de dezvoltare economică, socială și de mediu a Văii Jiului și a Planului de acțiuni aferent documentului, odată cu publicarea, spre dezbatere publică, a documentelor actualizate.

Proiectul a fost finanțat de Comisia Europeană prin Instrumentul de Sprijin Tehnic (TSI) dedicat susținerii reformelor structurale în Statele Membre UE (DG-REFORM).

Strategia este fundamentată pe patru piloni de dezvoltare:

  • îmbunătățirea calității vieții și crearea unui mediu sănătos și durabil pentru generațiile viitoare, prin optimizarea sistemului educațional, a celui sanitar-medical, a asistenței sociale și a sistemului de protecție a mediului;
  • diversificare economică, inovare și antreprenoriat;
  • valorificarea durabilă a specificului local pentru dezvoltarea turismului;
  • accesibilitate, mobilitate și conectivitate.

În noul document au fost integrate recomandările și aspectele relevante rezultate în cadrul primei runde de consultări publice, lansată în perioada 29 octombrie-20 noiembrie 2020.

Obiectivul general vizat în document îl reprezintă reconfigurarea pe multiple paliere a zonei, în contextul dificultăților economice și sociale generate de declinul industriei carbonifere și obiectivului asumat la nivel european de tranziție către o economie verde, cu impact redus asupra mediului înconjurător.

Documentul a fost realizat prin consultare la nivelul comunității locale din Valea Jiului cu ONG-urile active din zonă, autoritățile locale, mediul academic și cel de afaceri, reprezentanți ai Complexului Energetic Hunedoara și alți actori participanți în procesul de consultare de la începutul anului trecut până în prezent.

Fonduri UE de 50.000 EUR pentru tineri fermieri: Prelungire termen inscriere diaspora

Ministerul Agriculturii și Dezvoltării Rurale anunță că Agenția pentru Finanțarea Investițiilor Rurale prelungește sesiunea de primire a cererilor de finanțare pentru submăsura 6.1 „Sprijin pentru instalarea tinerilor fermieri” dedicată celor din diaspora, până la data de 05 iulie 2021, ora 16.00.

Alocarea financiară pentru această sesiune continuă este de 20 milioane de euro.

Pragul de calitate pentru perioada mai-iulie este de 25 de puncte.

Până în prezent au fost depuse 172 de proiecte a căror valoare însumează 6,9 milioane euro.

Sprijinul public acordat prin PNDR 2020 pentru instalarea tinerilor fermieri este 100% nerambursabil, în valoare de 40.000 de euro sau de 50.000 de euro, în funcție de dimensiunea exploatației agricole.

Finanțarea se acordă tinerilor fermieri sub formă de sumă forfetară în două tranșe: 75% din cuantumul sprijinului la semnarea Contractului de finanțare și 25% din cuantumul sprijinului în funcție de implementarea corectă a Planului de Afaceri, fără a depăși trei ani (cinci ani pentru exploatațiile pomicole) de la semnarea Contractului de finanțare.

Acordarea sprijinului va fi proporțională cu gradul de îndeplinire a Planului de Afaceri.

Procedure on the way to end Federal Reserve and return to the Gold Standard ! President Trump meetings continue

As President-elect’s Donald Trump’s transition rolls on, more and more attention is being paid to possible selections for a variety of high-ranking positions and meetings that might help decide these appointments.
On Monday, Trump will meet with John Allison, the former CEO of the bank BB&T and of the libertarian think tank the Cato Institute.
There have been reports that Allison is being considered for Treasury secretary.

Trump’s has on the campaign trail questioned the future of the Federal Reserve’s political independence, but Allison takes that rhetoric a step further. While running the the Cato Institute, Allison wrote a paper in support of abolishing the Fed.

“I would get rid of the Federal Reserve because the volatility in the economy is primarily caused by the Fed,” Allison wrote in 2014 for the Cato Journal, a publication of the institute.

Allison said that simply allowing the market to regulate itself would be preferable to the Fed harming the stability of the financial system.

“When the Fed is radically changing the money supply, distorting interest rates, and over-regulating the financial sector, it makes rational economic calculation difficult,” Allison wrote. “Markets do form bubbles, but the Fed makes them worse.”

Allison also suggested that the government’s practice of insuring bank deposits up to $250,000 should be abolished and the US should go back to a banking system backed by “a market standard such as gold.”

Allison also argued for higher capital reserves of up to 20% of assets at banks. On the other hand, he also argued that the government should repeal three of the broadest banking regulations.

“We should raise capital standards, but it is even more important to eliminate burdensome regulations — including Dodd-Frank, the Community Reinvestment Act, and Truth in Lending,” Allison wrote. “About 25 percent of a bank’s personnel cost relates to regulations. Banks cannot pay the regulatory costs and have high capital standards.”

POR 2.2 lansat ! 150 milioane EURO alocare bugetara, proiecte intre 1.5 si 6 mil. euro

Autoritatea de Management pentru Programul Operațional Regional (POR) 2014-2020 din cadrul Ministerului Lucrărilor Publice, Dezvoltării și Administrației (MLPDA) a lansat un nou apel de proiecte pentru acordarea de ajutoare de stat și ajutoare de minimis în scopul dezvoltării întreprinderilor mici și mijlocii.

Beneficiari eligibili: IMM

Obiectiv specific: OS 2.2 Îmbunătățirea competitivității economice prin creșterea productivității muncii în IMM-uri în sectoarele competitive identificate în SNC

Solicitanți eligibili: societățile constituite în baza Legii nr. 31/1990 privind societățile, republicată, cu modificările și completările ulterioare sau în baza Legii nr. 1/2005 privind organizarea şi funcţionarea cooperaţiei, republicată, cu modificările și completările ulterioare, care se încadrează în categoria întreprinderilor mici și mijlocii din mediul urban, sau a întreprinderilor mijlocii din mediul rural.

​Condiții detaliate de eligibilitate a solicitantului:

  • Locul de implementare a proiectului este situat în:
    • mediul urban (inclusiv sate aparținătoare de orașe) pentru întreprinderi mici și mijlocii;
    • mediul rural pentru întreprinderile mijlocii.
  • Domeniul de activitate în care se realizează investiţia trebuie să se regăsească în Anexa 2 la Ghidul Solicitantului
  • Solicitantul este societate sau societate cooperativă care se încadrează în categoria întreprinderilor mici sau mijlocii din mediul urban, sau a întreprinderilor mijlocii din mediul rural
  • Solicitantul a desfăşurat activitate pe o perioadă corespunzătoare cel puţin unui an fiscal integral și a înregistrat profit din exploatare (>0 lei) în anul fiscal anterior depunerii cererii de finanțare

Tipuri de investiții eligibile:

Proiectul propus în cererea de finanțare trebuie să cuprindă, în mod obligatoriu, investiții în active corporale (construire / extindere / dotare cu active corporale). Este opțională includerea, în proiect, a investițiilor în active necorporale.

Alocarea financiară totală a apelului este de 150.000.000 euro, împărțită pe cele 7 regiuni mai puțin dezvoltate astfel:

  • Nord-Est: 26,265,000 euro;
  • Centru: 20,730,000 euro.
  • Sud Muntenia: 23,610,000 euro;
  • Sud-Vest-Oltenia: 17,955,000 euro;
  • Vest: 17,655,000 euro;
  • Sud-Est: 22,290,000 euro;
  • Nord-Vest: 21,495,000 euro;

Valoarea minimă a unui proiect este de 1.500.000,00 euro.

Valoarea maximă a unui proiect este de 6.000.000 euro.

Artificial Intelligence Defeats Lockheed F-16 Pilot In Darpa’s Virtual Dogfight | Investor’s Business Daily

In a semifinal Thursday, Lockheed beat Physics AI. Heron defeated Aurora in the other semifinal and then took down Lockheed in the final. Heron scored five kills vs. zero for the human pilot.

The first round on Tuesday featured each team flying their algorithms vs. adversary AI algorithms. The teams then competed against each other in a round-robin style competition Wednesday.

ECB official says the central bank is working on a ‘retail’ digital currency, floats decentralized token model

The European Central Bank is working on a “retail central bank digital currency” as part of an investigative task force, according to a member of its Executive Board.

Yves Mersch, who also serves as vice chair of the ECB’s Supervisory Board, made the remarks during an early-morning keynote address for CoinDesk’s Consensus 2020 conference. In a published version of his speech, Mersch talked about the task force and the work it is conducting, mostly notable the retail CBDC versus a “wholesale” focused one.

Mersch acknowledged that such work is taking place against the backdrop of an economy in which the vast majority of euro area transactions – some 76% – are in the form of cash. And to that end, “[t]he ECB’s debate on CBDCs is therefore mainly analytical,” he noted.

“The lack of a concrete ‘business case’ for a CBDC at present should and does not stop us from seriously exploring the optimal design of a CBDC so that we will be well prepared should we ever take a policy decision to issue a digital currency,” he went on to say. “To this end, we have set up a task force on a CBDC within the Eurosystem

Buffett ‘Killed His Reputation’ by Being Stupid About Bitcoin ! His Company Reported $50 billions Q1 loss

On May 2, Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway reported a $50 billion Q1 loss, with Buffett admitting a major investor mistake. Keiser subsequently argued that the legendary 89-year-old investor “killed his reputation by being stupid about BTC.”

He tweeted on May 3:

“Now that Buffett is out of the game and stock buybacks are rightly being called out as fraudulent, investors will ask… If Buffett was dead wrong about so much, was he also wrong about #Bitcoin and Gold? ANSWER: YES. Buffett killed his reputation by being stupid about BTC.”
Keiser further tweeted that it is time to leave Buffett in the past, outlining that millennials and Gen Z should look to Bitcoin. The Bitcoin bull also highlighted that Buffett “was already way overrated,” as he missed not only Bitcoin investment, but also gold, Apple and Amazon.

Pomp says that Buffett has enough cash to “buy every Bitcoin” in the circulating supply

By the end of March, Buffett’s Berkshire had a record $137 billion in cash and equivalent instruments. Anthony “Pomp” Pompliano, co-founder and partner at Morgan Creek Digital, tweeted on May 2 that Buffet is able to buy all circulating bitcoins with that amount. Pomp said:

“Warren Buffett has $137 billion in cash. That is almost enough to buy every Bitcoin in the circulating supply.”

Real Estate Security Tokens Steadily Gain Market Share – properties listed on chain

The nascent real estate security token, or REST, sector experienced consistent growth in Q1 2020.
Three new properties were also listed on RealT during March — doubling monthly real estate token trade.
RESTs now represent nearly half of active security token markets, and 15% of total volume. 
Tokenized real estate quietly garners liquidity
During January, tokens representing fractionalized ownership in three properties in Detroit, Michigan produced $19,950 in monthly volume. The tokens represent fractionalized ownership in rental incomes generated by the property.
Tokens for a home on Fullerton St. represented more than half of trade with $11,150 in volume. A property on Marlowe St. also saw $7,057 in tokenized trade, followed by an Audubon St. rental that produced $1,743. Combined, the three properties represented 10.3% of total security token trade.
February saw the three properties’ pooled volume increase 25% to $24,393, with Fullerton St. tokens seeing a 20% hike in activity. During the same period, Audubon’s monthly volume doubled. 
However, a 70% increase in volume across all tokenized securities resulted in real estate tokens representing just 7.5% of the $329,000 digital securities market by the end of Feb.
New REST listing doubles market share in March
In March, the addition of three active REST markets on RealT saw monthly security token trade almost double to $47,584. 
Newly active markets for properties on the streets of Applione, Leisure, and Patton generated $24,590, while Audubon, Marlowe, and Fullerton produced $22,994.
With overall tokenized security activity plateauing in March, RESTs’ share of security token trade spiked to 14.5%.
4.37 million security tokens to flood tZERO
Overstock is seeking to drive greater activity in the tokenized security markets, announcing that it will airdrop 4.37 million ‘OSTKO’ security tokens to OSTK shareholders at a 1:10 ratio.
The tokens will exclusively trade on overstock’s tZERO alternative trading system — which currently hosts $8,700 in average daily trade. Cointelegraph.com

Charities Are Turning to Bitcoin Amid the Global Fight Against Coronavirus

In the war against the novel coronavirus, cryptocurrencies are emerging as a much-needed tool for charity and fundraising projects. Already there are a number of large nonprofits accepting Bitcoin donations. Plus, some blockchain and crypto firms are contributing medical supplies to hospitals in an attempt to curb the virus, while others are setting up fundraisers and charities that are aimed at helping its victims.
As a number of nonprofits continue to accept cryptocurrency donations, they are starting to realize that crypto transactions significantly reduce costs in terms of fees. Here are a number of charities and fundraisers that accept donations in crypto.
Red Cross
The rate of coronavirus infections in Italy is astonishingly high. For this reason, the Italian Red Cross moved to accept Bitcoin (BTC) and other crypto donations on March 12 with the goal of using the proceeds from the campaign to set up second-level advanced medical posts. The medical posts would be used to pre-triage coronavirus patients.
The project turned out to be such a success such that its fundraising goal of $10,710 was achieved by the third day of the campaign. Since then, the charitable organization has moved to raise even more funds through Bitcoin and other crypto donations with the goal of $26,000. The funds from the second round of funding are set to be used to buy emergency equipment. So far, the organization has achieved around 85% of its goal.
The Water Project
Apart from social distancing, one of the frequent calls by hygiene experts has been to wash hands. Without a doubt, hand washing is one of the crucial ways of fighting the spread of the coronavirus. Charitable organizations such as The Water Project have been at work installing and repairing water points all over impoverished regions in Africa. 
They have also been teaching communities how to wash hands and how to keep their water sources free from germs and other pathogens, as well as how to begin and maintain other good health practices. With coronavirus spreading through various countries in Africa, charitable organizations like The Water Project are crucial for the containment of the virus. 
For the first time, the organization has launched a fundraising project called WaSH — an acronym for water sanitation and hygiene — with the aim of raising funds to provide clean water and hygiene. Aside from standard methods of donation, the water project also accepts crypto donations in Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ether (ETH) and Litecoin (LTC).

Bitcoin Has Been Doing Much Better Than Gold and Wall Street for the Past Year

Bitcoin has been widely criticized in recent weeks. All of its fiercest opponents saw the sharp drop in its price on March 12, 2020 as the ultimate proof that Bitcoin is not a safe haven in times of crisis.
As is often the case, these opponents of Bitcoin have made the mistake, knowingly or unknowingly at your discretion, of jumping to conclusions in a very short period of time.
One cannot conclude about Bitcoin’s safe haven status in a day.
Similarly, it is not enough to see that Bitcoin fell on March 12, 2020 just like Wall Street or gold to conclude that Bitcoin is a correlated asset.
The best thing to do is to step back and look at the bigger picture. A one year period is a good start. As a matter of fact, Bitcoin price was $5,022 on April 4, 2019. At the time of this writing, Bitcoin price is $6,796. Over one year, Bitcoin price is therefore up 35%:

Bitcoin price has increased by 35% in one year
Over this one-year period, Bitcoin pricereached its highest level on June 26, 2019 at $13,426. Its lowest price was reached on March 13, 2020 at around $3,800. I say around here, because there was such panic on that day that the price differential between the trading platforms had reached record highs.
Bigger Picture Inspires Optimism for Bitcoin
Looking back over a period of one year, you can see that Bitcoin continues to outperform its direct competitors. Both the Dow Jones and the S&P 500 are showing strong declines.
Gold is doing well with a performance of +25%, but Bitcoin is doing much better with a performance of +35%.
